The Virgin Islands are acknowledged as among the friendliest all around cruising grounds
in the world. Minimal tides, reliable trade winds, good visibility and
year 'round comfortable temperatures make this a great place for a cruising
vacation. You are always within
the sight of land and a safe anchorage allowing you to sail as much or as little
as you wish. Easy flights from the US and Europe add to their popularity. While the Virgin Islands are divided between the British and
US islands, customs and immigration present only a minimal inconvenience
for those wishing to cross the border.
Air arrival to the Virgin Islands is accomplished by direct flight to St. Thomas from a number of US gateway cities or through San Juan Puerto Rico and an island hopper flight to Tortola or St. Thomas. Inter-island ferry boats operate a frequent schedule between all the larger islands.
The Virgin Islands are also, our
home, for 23 years. Both the US and the British Virgin Islands
are becoming increasingly more popular. Most of this congestion is limited to the a
few popular anchorages with expanded shore side facilities. The large number of
anchorages found in these, local waters are still ample to provided uncrowded conditions
for those desiring this on all but the busiest few weeks.

Including
St. Martin- St. Barts
and Antigua

These destinations are favored by the European crowd. St. Martin and Antigua both have direct from Europe flights making getting there easy. St. Martin is easily reached from North America. You can get to Antigua, but it is a challenge.
Plan
on increasing the size of your yacht (and budget) when chartering these
locations in the Peak winter season. Anchorages are limited, dockage is is
usually encouraged when available. In Spring time, and typically a calming of
the seas, many modestly priced yachts normally based in the VI are offered for
charter in these waters.

St. Barts Airport and largest beach area.
