Oasis 60's Crew

Captain Toby Felix
Toby began his journey to becoming a yacht captain in St. Thomas as a dock attendant for Caribbean Yacht Charters and quickly worked his way through the company to the position of assistant manager. His responsibilities, including detailing yachts for charter, mechanical work, boat handling, customer checkouts and customer relations, were perfect training for charter. After a few years of watching boats full of happy people sail away from the dock, he switched to the other side of the business and worked as a bareboat captain for CYC for a year.

From 1997 to 2001, Toby cruised the East Coast and the Caribbean as first mate aboard two classic Alden yachts, the 65 foot yawl Id and the 92 foot ketch Isabelle. Over the last five years he has captained charter and private vessels ranging from a 1920’s commuter yacht built for the grandson of the founder of the Canadian Club distillery, to a 54 foot Little Harbor sloop. During this period of time he spent a year and a half managing a full restoration of the classic 92 foot Fife ketch Adventuress.
Captain Felix holds a USCG 100 ton Masters License with sailing & Assistance Towing Endorsements. He has qualifications in Yacht Fire Safety Training; Adult, Infant & Child CPR; and First Aid & Safety.

Cook/ Stewardess Amanda Berner
Amanda brings ten years of experience in the Food & Beverage/Hospitality Industry covering urban fine dining to beach front cafés from North Carolina to Colorado, California and the Virgin Islands. Dining on OASIS is enhanced by her extensive wine knowledge and training in silver service as well as her fresh approach to international cuisine. Amanda’s background in digital photography and media design is evident in the artistic presentation of her cuisine.

Since joining Toby on the Little Harbor sailing yacht Flying Colours in St. Thomas, Amanda has immersed herself in all things nautical and a career in chartering. She has crewed on an 800 mile delivery from Cabo San Lucas to San Diego and been stewardess on an 80 foot motor yacht. Amanda combines a friendly, outgoing personality with insight and flexibility. With the confidence of solid experience as stewardess, mate and deckhand, Amanda is eager to apply her skills to give guests on OASIS the finest sailing holiday.
