Aria's Crew

Brent & Andrea Clark
Plus mate
Over the last five years, Brett has been on the fast track, gaining
experience and qualifications as a charter yacht skipper. An Australian
in his early thirties, he worked in sales and PR before turning his
sights on the yachting industry, inspired perhaps by his time as a
water sports instructor in France. And, he may be the only captain
who is a professional pastry chef!
Brett’s hands-on
experience covers yacht maintenance, charter preparation, yacht engineer
and deliveries from the Med to Scandinavia and the Caribbean. He has
eighteen months experience as First Mate/Engineer on sailing yachts
over 75 feet and aboard the 86’ M/Y Bel Mare.
Brett is uniquely qualified to captain ARIA, having served six months
in 2005 as First Mate and Engineer under Captain Peter Warwick. Brett
is STCW95 certified and has an International Yachtmaster Offshore
License in addition to an RYA Day Skipper license.
Chef Andrea Clark-Andrea and her husband Brett have
worked together for two and a half years, starting in Southampton,
England doing shore-based charter preparation for Zanna, a 25 meter
yawl. Andrea went on to work as stewardess for Blue Ocean Power Boats
and had a turn as a yacht broker at Ocean Village Marina.
Brett and Andrea started working as a team on yachts in 2003 as delivery
crew aboard Zanna, sailing from the Med to Ireland, throughout Scandinavia
and on to the Caribbean. In the past eighteen months, Andrea has served
as crew cook and/or chief stewardess on S/Y Wild Horses, 76’,
in New England and the Caribbean and M/Y Bel Mare, an 86’ catamaran
in New Zealand.
Like Brett, Andrea is committed to advancing her yachting career.
From July through October, 2005, she was stewardess aboard ARIA and
worked side by side with Chef Chris Millburg, raising her cooking
and presentation skills to a higher level. Brett and Andrea took over
ARIA March 1st (2006). Now confidently in charge of ARIA’s galley,
Andrea is ready to serve her guests the finest and freshest ingredients
prepared with her own creative flair.
