CAPTAIN Jack Boye: Jack has owned, chartered,
raced and cruised on yachts for over thirty years. His racing
CV is extensive. He is the only American to have completed the
BOC Single Handed Around the World Race, The OSTAR Trans Atlantic
Race and the French Route du Rhum Race. Add five Bermuda One/Two
Races, racing from Cape Town to Brazil, cruising from Newport
to Norway. Jack has over 60,000 nautical miles under his keel.
Jack attended Penn State University on a football scholarship,
graduated with a BA in American History and went to work on Wall
Street for the next twenty years. An entrepreneur, Jack started
one of the first discount brokerage firms. He left Wall Street
to start a technology company that used the internet to do real
time portfolio analysis.
Jack enjoys travel, adventure, hiking and the excitement of exploring
new places. He has traveled in Europe, Norway, the British Isles,
Mexico, South America, Asia, New Caledonia and Australia. He loves
photography, music of all types, theater and cooking.
Jack especially enjoys sailing with his own family and welcomes
children over eight years old who have water skills. Experiencing
the yacht is foremost and there are games, books, children's DVD's,
radio and CD's, fishing, swimming and exploring island beaches
and hillside paths.
CHEF/HOSTESS Susan Boye: Susan grew up in Barrington,
Rhode Island where she was an active member of the Barrington
Yacht Club. She spent all her childhood summers sailing Narragansett
Bay and New England and her winters skiing in Mt Washington Valley.
She attended the University of New Hampshire with a major in
botany and a minor in Art and also has a B.S. in Nursing. She
has managed greenhouse production in Washington State and developed
wild blueberry fields in Maine.
An active, outdoors person, Susan has hiked and skied in Switzerland,
Scotland, the Sierra mountains, the Olympic Peninsula and the
Presidential Range. She lived in the Caribbean for several years,
working and sailing aboard both monohull and catamaran yachts.
Susan is a graduate of the of the Oregon Culinary Institute and
has taken courses at several cooking schools in Quebec. Her culinary
forte is primarily French in influence. Her casually elegant creations
reveal Caribbean inspiration as well. Guests will enjoy Susan's
unique culinary talents, creatively adapted to their specific
requests.
