| Jet Stream 45 ft. Leopard catamaran
Built in South Africa by Robertson and Caine, the Leopard 45 is a former Cruising World Boat-Of-The-Year. Jet Stream features four lavish queen-sized cabins with ensuite heads and showers. Three cabins are available for charter guests, while the fourth is occupied by the crew. Jet Stream is air-conditioned throughout, powered by a 9kw generator. For the guests’ enjoyment, Jet Stream has stereo, CD, DVD and Tape players, and TV, with libraries of titles for each. Tim and Marsha are musically inclined; Jet Stream carries an electric piano and acoustic guitar. Tim is an avid pianist, but will gladly yield the keyboard to others. He also enjoys accompanying guitar-playing guests in duets for the enjoyment (one hopes!) of the rest of those onboard.
The Leopard 45 is known as a capable blue-water sailboat. Tim and Marsha enjoy sailing her at every opportunity. They also relish introducing guests to the arts of sailing, in general, or to the fine points of sailing catamarans. They encourage as much “crew-participation” or relaxation as guests wish. The sunny trampoline, the shaded cockpit and air-conditioned interior are comfortable venues for visiting, reading and relaxing while basking in delight at Marsha’s offerings from the galley.
Jet Stream 's Crew
Captain Tim Schaaf and Chef Marsha
McCoskrie Tim has skippered charter boats professionally and taught sailing since 1988. Also the child of a diplomat, his youth was spent in a number of different countries; indeed, he learned to sail while traveling in England. For several years, he cruised the Californian and Mexican coasts, and also managed the prestigious Marina Cabo San Lucas, located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula. He has interwoven his sailing career with a parallel career as a golf professional. Formerly Stanford University’s Head Golf Coach, he has also directed an internationally acclaimed golf school and pioneered leading-edge teaching technology. His teaching and coaching career has taken him to Mexico, Japan, Germany and the Dominican Republic, in addition to the United States. He holds a BA from Harvard University. Marsha is a trained chef. She specializes in Asian and Middle-Eastern cooking, and but is equally happy to produce Western fare. Her personal favorites tend toward the high-taste, low-fat end of the scale, and she has also studied Raw Foods cuisine. But, whatever the taste of her guests, Marsha can be counted upon to please the palate. Jet Stream also carries a full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, so guests will also be well served from her bar. Marsha’s varied menus are the offshoot of a life of travel. The daughter of a diplomat/Air Force officer, she grew up in a number of places, at home and abroad. And, for many years she worked in the field of Health Communication, first for Johns Hopkins University and then independently, working with international clients to design interpersonal and mass media communication programs and videos to entertain, educate and motivate people regarding a host of health and social issues. Her work has taken her to such places as Thailand, Nepal, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Tibet, the Ivory Coast, and Burkina Fasso. She holds a Master’s degree in Communication Management from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California. Tim and Marsha originally met in High School at the International School of Bangkok, in Bangkok, Thailand. Although their lives took widely differing paths, many years later, fate brought them back together. Tim and Marsha enjoy sharing their love of the laid-back life of catamaran cruising with their guests. They will be happy to quietly facilitate a private vacation-of-a-lifetime, or they will actively involve guests with as much of the operation of Jet Stream as they might enjoy. In any case, Tim and Marsha are determined to make time spent aboard Jet Stream a high point in the lives of their guests. Look Here for Jet Stream 's Typical Menu
