When you board Marolanga, you will be pleasantly surprised by the roominess of the cockpit. The cocktail table, the fixed bimini top and the sun mattresses convert the working cockpit of this catamaran into a bona fide open-air party-deck.

Marcella and Gus Kormann
Chef and Captain

August "Gus" Kormann is the owner and Captain of Marolanga. Born in Salzburg, Austria, the world-renowned city for its majestic castle, celebrated operahouse, beautiful fountains and birthplace of the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
"Gus" professional backgroud is in graphic design and typesetting. He successfully operated his own business for 28 years, always spending as much time as possible on his sailing passion.

Gus spent 15 years sailing his olympic catamaran "Tornado", competing in regattas as well as World- and European Championships.
After receiving his dream catamaran Marolanga and an enjoyable charter season on the French Riviera, he sailed Marolanga to explore new waters in Florida and the Bahamas.

After two years in the Florida Keys and the Bahamas, Gus and Marcella sailed to the Virgin Islands where they delight their guests with warm and friendly hospitality.

 

Marcella Kormann is your Chef and First Mate on board Marolanga, born in Germany, a stone´s throw from the famous Rhine River.
She is an active sports figure, adept in tennis, skiing, sailing and snorkeling (the guests call her "Mermaid").

Marcella welcomes the opportunity to share her enlightening stories of adventures encountered above and below the surface of the water. The fact, that cooking is her hobby, will certainly delight any culinary palate.

Marcella has attended several cooking- classes in health- and nouveau gourmet- cuisine and offers a health conscientious and flavourful repertoire to satisfy diversified demands. Her Austrian and German specialities are unbeatable. This does not mean that fans of Hamburgers left out in the cold!

Gus and Marcella are proud to introduce you Sasha, their new male Persian cat! He has been accustoming to his new boat life over the last few weeks and is doing very well, feeling at home and happy on Marolanga.

Like all Persians cat, he is very sweet, friendly, soft and quiet – and only weights 6 pounds! Gus and Marcella have already trained him to stay only on their crew side of the boat and he is not allowed on the guests side. And during the day he mostly sleeps on the cool floor of Gus and Marcella’s cabin.
